Job description

Basic Function

Responsible for overseeing all phases of purchasing, warehouse operations and inventory to insure company goals are met in a timely manner.

Work Schedule

M-F (6:45AM – 3:15PM)

Responsibilities

Purchasing

  1. Write and track Purchase Orders for all requested equipment and supplies.
  2. Receive vendor invoices to proper jobs and phase codes.
  3. Order /pick job materials in a timely manner.
  4. Track and monitor backordered items to ensure there are no double charges.
  5. Interface with vendors to place purchase orders, resolve product availability issues, and conclude matters regarding different aspects of certain products.
  6. Interface with rental vendors to order and schedule rental equipment for job sites.
  7. Maintain files in an accurate and easy to locate manner. i.e. P.O’s, receiving records, vendor files, pricing/cost files.

Warehouse

  1. Hiring and supervision of Warehouse Driver.
  2. Assist Warehouse Driver with loading company trucks.
  3. Fill in for Warehouse Driver when they are unavailable.
  4. Receive and distribute all vendor deliveries. (unload vendor trucks with forklift)
  5. Inspect all deliveries and record any damaged materials.
  6. Track damage waivers for return/replacement of merchandise and reimbursement.
  7. Coordinate/schedule all job deliveries with correct materials and interface with field supervisors regarding delivery schedules.
  8. Organize materials and prepare for shipment as needed (eg. Returns, warranty parts, etc.)
  9. Maintain inventory and maintenance of company tools.
  10. Maintain inventory of safety equipment. (eg. ropes, harnesses, hard hats, glasses etc.)
  11. Maintain inventory of supply room and service trucks. Oversee physical inventory on a yearly basis. Investigate and resolves discrepancies and adjusts inventory counts.
  12. Use company software to trace inventory and perform material transfers.
  13. Supply safety equipment to new employees and replacement of equipment to existing employees.
  14. Light building maintenance such as changing light bulbs, sweeping stairs, salting etc.
  15. Maintain cleanliness of the company yard. (recycle bins, magnet sweep, snow removal etc.)

Fleet

  1. Maintain vehicle maintenance log and key lockbox.
  2. Maintain vehicle appearance
  3. Schedule repairs for company vehicles.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 4-6 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, basic fractions and distance.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of: Database Software (Access); Internet Software; Spreadsheet Software (Excel); Word Processing Software (Word); and Electronic Mail Software (Outlook).

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations

Valid driver license and acceptable motor vehicle record

Other Qualifications

Experience with forklifts and hand trucks a must

Specialized Equipment

Forklift, Hand Truck, Pallet Jack
